SRI KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION : SATURDAY, AUGUST 15TH
|
Sri Krishna is the fully manifested form of Lord Vishnu. He is called the ‘Jagath Guru’ for preaching, elevating and enlightening all of mankind in the divine ‘Bhagwath Gita, the song of God’. The name Krishna is the 57th name in the Vishnu Sahasranama, and according to Adi Shankaracharya, it means the "Existence of Bliss". Other common names are Govinda, Gopala, Jagannaatha, Srinath, Vittala and Vasudeva. Devotees find bliss in hearing his Leelas as they surrender at His lotus feet.
As a part of Aaradhana to Lord Krishna, devotees are invited to participate in Abhishekam, Bhajans (will be provided) and Raas. Children are encouraged to dress like Radha and Krishna for the evening. Devotees are requested to bring their dandias for Raas.
All devotees are invited to participate in the celebration. Donations are welcome.

- From Veterans Parkway (N) make a left on to Fort Jesse Road
- Pass Towanda Avenue signal light and keep going on Fort Jesse Road
- At Beech Street signal light take a right turn
- Pass stop sign, keep going on Beech Street
- On the right look for the sign — "Normal One Plaza, (Douglas St. & Mulberry School)
- Take a right towards Normal One Plaza and Mulberry School.
