SAMOOHIKA GODA- RANGANATHA KALYANAM : SATURDAY JAN. 16TH
Please click here to Register for Temple email

Sri Goda or Aandal, the incarnation of Sri Bhoodevi (Mother Earth), is one of the greatest devotees of Lord Krishna. The Lord has said in the Gita that among all the maasam, He is Marghali or Dhanurmaasam. During this maasam Aandal recited her famous Sri Thiruppavai glorifying Lord Krishna and achieved her desired union with Lord Ranganaatha in Srirangam.

Special Dhanurmaasam pooja will be performed like Sri Tirupallichi and Sri Thiruppavai followed by samoohika Sri Goda Ranganaatha Kalyaanam. The reason to celebrate the divine Kalyaanam is : The purpose of His incarnation is to do good to the world. That goodness can be achieved only through His mercy. Goodness is the personification of mercy (dayaa) of God. When He comes down to Earth, immediately mercy, the divine Mother, also comes down along with him. Though both of them are always together, we His devotees feel blissful to see them being joined in union to uplift His devotees (Kalyaanam).
