Sri Durgaastami is celebrated on the 8th day of Navarathri (Dassera). The image of Durga, the Eternal Mother destroying the demon, Mahishasur on Chamundi Hills near Mysore is symbolic of the final confrontation of the spiritual urge of man with his baser passions. This goddess Durga as Lord Shiva's Consort represents two forms of female energy - one mild and protective and the other fierce and destructive. On this occasion we are performing Sri Durga Pooja.

Directions from Veteran's Parkway North :
- From Veterans Parkway (N) make a left on to Fort Jesse Road
- Pass Towanda Avenue signal light and keep going on Fort Jesse Road
- At Beech Street signal light take a right turn
- Pass stop sign, keep going on Beech Street
- On the right look for the sign — "Normal One Plaza, (Douglas St. & Mulberry School)
- Take a right towards Normal One Plaza and Mulberry School.
