We wish all the devotees a very Happy Deepavali!
Deepavali means “a row of lights”. The festival commemorates the return of Lord Sri Ramachandra from his 14 year exile.
The people of Ayodhya illuminated the kingdom with earthen diyas (oil lamps) and fireworks to celebrate of the return of
their king. Deepavali is a four day festival. It commences with Dhan Teras, followed by Naraka Chaturdasi.
This holy day marks the vanquishing of the demon Naraka by Lord Sri Krishna and his wife Satyabhama. On the no moon day
or Amavasya, Sri Dhanalakshmi pooja is celebrated. Sri Dhanalaskshmi, is the goddesss of wealth and prosperity.
She is one of the manifestations of Sri Mahalakshmi. Bali Padhyami is celebrated on the next day.
King Bali is believed to rise from Pathalla Loka and rule Bhuloka as per the boon given by Lord Vamana,
the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Mount. Govardharn pooja is also performed on this day.

Directions from Veteran's Parkway North :
- From Veterans Parkway (N) make a left on to Fort Jesse Road
- Pass Towanda Avenue signal light and keep going on Fort Jesse Road
- At Beech Street signal light take a right turn
- Pass stop sign, keep going on Beech Street
- On the right look for the sign — "Normal One Plaza, (Douglas St. & Mulberry School)
- Take a right towards Normal One Plaza and Mulberry School.
