2007
  • In the first quarter, temple executive committee members were voted by the trustees.
  • Several members of the Bloomington-Normal community contributed the initial seeding money to purchase land in the vicinity. Purchase of land will soon be finalized within couple of months.
  • Communication, Fundraising and By-laws committees are being formed. Able and committed volunteers are sought to serve in those committees. Initial version of the By-laws was presented by the By-laws committee.
  • 2006
    • 2006 was a remarkable year for our Hindu Temple. In the third quarter of 2006 several initial members in the community met and brain-stormed about building a Hindu temple in Bloomington-Normal which would provide a permanent place to perform and practice religious, spiritual, and cultural learning in the McLean County area.
    • To start this auspicious and important endeavor during the fourth quarter, Hindu Temple of Bloomington-Normal was registered as a Not-For-Profit organization.
    • Several initial founding volunteers came together and pledged over $200,000. Volunteers who pledged over $10,000 were considered founding members and trustees.

  • www.OurHinduTemple.org was registered as the temple's website. Volunteers designed the site and presented the temple's identity.
