amṛtyuḥ sarvadṛk siṃhaḥ sandhātā sandhimān sthiraḥ ।
ajō durmarṣaṇaḥ śāstā viśrutātmā surārihā.

The above stotra is the 22nd verse in Vishnu Sahasranaamam. Can you guess what avatara do these names describe?

Do you know how a pillar became  Brahma's grandmother?

If you guessed Nrusimha avatar you are correct. Vedantha Desika,  an acharya par excellence who lived around 800 years ago says ShrimanNarayana is Brahma's father/creator. Since ShrimanNarayana appeared from a pillar in Nrusimha avatar, naturally, the pillar becomes Brahma’s grandmother!

On February 8th HTBN is celebrating Nrusimha Utsava Moothy prathishta. Please attend with your friends and family since Nrusimha is known as

Sandhaata - one who calls out to devotees, and keeps them beside Him.

Sandhimaan - one who ensures that devotees are beside Him always, and are never separated from Him.

Let us all get closer to Him.
